SAN DIEGO, California (CNN) -- Sailors aboard a commercial airline flight on which a Navy cook allegedly harassed an enlisted woman have been cleared of any wrongdoing, a Navy official said Sunday.
After reviewing the sailors' statements, Vice Admiral David B. Robinson decided that no disciplinary action would be taken. Investigators had been trying to determine why some of the sailors did nothing to dissuade the accused harasser. According to Navy officials, the woman has told them that she was trying to handle the incident herself.
Last month, investigators recommended nine charges against the cook, Chief Petty Officer George Powell, who will be tried in a special court martial scheduled for February 26.
WEST CALDWELL, New Jersey (CNN) -- To help postal employees spot package bombs, the U.S. Postal Service designed a replica of a package the Unabomber used to kill a man. Somehow, the package was put in the mail, on its way to the dead man's house.
An alert postal worker spotted "For display only" on the package and stopped its delivery Saturday before it could reach Thomas J. Mosser's home. Mosser was killed in his kitchen in December 1994.
The parcel apparently originated in Chicago. Postal Inspector Steve Panzera said it was not known how it got into the mail stream. Authorities assured Mosser's widow, Susan, that her family had not been in danger.
